New Delhi, May 1 (IANS) An 11-year-old schoolboy died here after he was hit by a speeding car while crossing the road near his school, police said Saturday.
'Ritwik, a student of MCD primary school on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg in central Delhi, was hit by a car when he was crossing the road near his school,' a police officer said.
The accident took place at 3.25 p.m. Saturday, the officer added.
Ritwik was taken to Loknayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, police said.
The car sped away from the spot after the incident.
