Kolkata, May 1 (IANS) A biography of industrialist Basant Kumar Birla and his wife Sarala was released here on the couple's 69th wedding anniversary.
The 252-page 'Life Has No Full Stops', written by Rashme Sehgal and a foreword by megastar Amitabh Bachchan, tells the story of how Birlas set up a formidable business empire spread across the globe.
Speaking on the occasion, evergreen Bollywood superstar Dev Anand said: 'I have lot of respect for this couple. I have known both of them for a long time.'
The book also recounts the special association that B.K. Birla had with Mahatma Gandhi and how Gandhi himself recommended Sarala to the Birla family, who were then on a lookout for a bride for Basant.
'We both are very happy. We do everything together. God is good,' said Sarala Birla, standing beside her husband on the occasion.
